Another really important piece of camping equipment that you’re going to need is a sleeping bag. Whether or not you’re going with your spouse or just friends, you want to make sure that you have enough sleeping bags for all.  Be careful about the type of sleeping bag that you get, as you may think that a light bag will be enough in the summertime, but sometimes those summer nights get awful chilly, and a heavier bag might be in order. These types of bags are great if the weather turns bad on you and gets real cold.

For an additional bit of comfort, you might want to think about bringing along a pad or an air mattress to sleep on. It sometimes gets rather uncomfortable sleeping in a regular tent on the ground. Not all campsites are made the same level ground, some are rather hard and rough.  If you want to assure that you’re going to have a good night sleep on your camping trip, then bringing the air pad or mattress is a good idea.  These items are usually pretty affordable so it shouldn’t be much of a problem getting them.

It might be a really good idea to bring along a backpack as well as just in case you want to do a little hiking. There are a lot of different styles and sizes of backpacks, and depending on what you’re going to use it for, will determine the style that you need.
